Description
A historic Carnegie Public Library Building located in Greensburg, Indiana. As a businessman and philanthropist, Andrew Carnegie provided grants for the building of more than 2500 free public libraries between 1883 and 1929, many of them in the United States. While many like the one pictured have since been utilized for other purposes, quite a number are still in use. In fact much of New York City's public library system remains rooted in buildings constructed by Carnegie.
