Description
George Rogers Clark Homesteaded the site from 1803-1809, before becoming injured and moving to Locust Grove in near Louisville Kentucky, where his sister lived. He was one of the founders of Clarksville, Indiana, was the Brother of William Clark (of the Lewis and Clark expedition). Lewis and Clark in fact met on the site of the homestead before starting their voyage of discovery. George Clark was also known as an explorer, suveyor, and military officer during the American Revolutionary War.
