Artist's Description

Newspaper Rock is a well known petroglyph site located in southeastern Utah, in the vicinity of Bears Ears National Monument, and the Needles District of Canyonlands National Park. Over 650 petroglyphs from the Ute, Fremont, Anasazi and other Indian cultures make up this rock art panel. The art dates from approximately 1500 years ago, up through approximately 100 years ago. The majority comes from Ancestral Puebloans who enhabited the region from 100 B.C. to 1540 A.D.
