Description
Tillamook Rock (Light) Lighthouse is a decommissioned lighthouse along the Oregon Coast, offshore from Ecola State Park, and the towns of Cannon Beach and Seaside. It was originally constructed in 1881 to protect Pacific Ocean traffic, and functioned until 1957. Since its decommissioning it has served as a columbarium, albeit with some controversy. It is on the National Register of Historic Places and is part of the Oregon Islands National Wildlife Refuge.
