Artist's Description
Oeschinensee (Oeschinen Lake) is located in the Bernese Alps, in the Swiss Canton of Bern. It lies in the Oeschinen Valley, an upper reach of the Kander Valley. Its accessible by gondola from the nearby town of Kandersteg. Its turquoise waters are caused by runoff from surrounding mountain glaciers. The lake is a popular for fishing, boating and hiking.
